Application Guide

1. Select Application Type
   Choose whether you are applying as an Individual or Firm (Company Listing is open ONLY to EARB Registered Agents).
2. Choose Membership Category
   Estate Agent or Estate Agent Companies
3. Create Account
   Provide your personal details to create a user account on the system.
4. Enter Your Information
   Fill in academic and professional background as required.
5. Upload Supporting Documents
   Upload all required files (certificates, ID/passport photo, resume, etc.).
6. Submit application for review.
   Finish and make your payment, awaiting review of your application.
7. Await Verification
     Your application will be reviewed. You will receive either:
    --Approval Email that your application has proceeded to the next step
    --Return Email with feedback on changes to be done to your application for resubmission.  

Application Requirements

A. INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

Persons seeking registration need to have a minimum of a KCSE certificate, two years minimum experience and recommendation from a registered estate agent, and MUST be a Kenyan citizen.
Other attachments required in the application are;

1. Passport-size photograph ( JPEG format only)
2. Copy of your ID/Passport
3. Certified copies of all Educational Certificates (KCSE minimum)
4. Updated CV 
5. Letter of recommendation from a registered Estate Agent who holds a current practicing license and has trained you for more than two years, and has been registered with the board for more than two years. The sample recommendation letter to be used is attached to the link. Ensure that your recommender uses this same format: EARB SAMPLE RECOMMENDATION LETTER
6. A current copy of the Annual Practicing Licence from your Recommender
7. Current Certificate of Good Conduct from the DCI
8. Certificate of good standing from professional membership body (IF ANY)
9. Append signature OR Upload Signature (JPEG format only)
10. Payment of the application fee KSH 2,000. Once you submit the application documents, the board will review it. After a period, you will receive a confirmation inviting you to attend an interview with the Estate Agents Registration Board. An interview fee of KSH 5,000 will also be charged as you proceed.
11. If you pass the interview, you then register as a real estate agent, subject to payment of the registration fee, KSH 10,000, and Annual Practicing Certificate fee, KSH 7,000, and/or any other fees prescribed by the board during this period
12. If your application is successful, you will be issued a registration certificate and a unique registration number. As a registered estate agent, you will be required to comply with the EARB’s code of conduct and regulations.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

B. FIRM MEMBERSHIP

Eligibility is open to only EARB Registered Estate Agents

Required attachments:

1. Copy of Registration Certificate/Certificate of Incorporation with the Registrar of Companies.
2. Articles and Memorandum of Association for Limited Liability/CR2/Deed Poll for Partnership. (The Objectives/ the primary business activity of the firm should be specific of the Profession)
3. Sample Headed Paper (Letter Head)
4. Copy of Financial Reporting Centre (FRC) membership certificate
5. Professional Indemnity Insurance Certificate of minimum cover limit KSH 200,000
6. KRA PIN and Tax Compliance certificates
7. Official search (CR12) for Limited Liability Companies / Official Search (CR13) for Business Name/ Official search LLP for partnerships
8. Details of Directors or partners (Name, ID, EARB Reg. NO, Citizenship status)
9. Details of employed professional personnel (Name, ID, EARB Reg. NO, Citizenship status)
10. Copy of Registration Certificate and current Practicing Certificate for all directors

Company listing fees:

1. Application fee of KSH 3,000
2. Annual subscription fee of KSH 7,000 for first-time submission, and subsequently KSH 10,000 annual renewal.

PLEASE NOTE: The Board will not register firms with Common Directors or Firms whose directors are employees of other firms.
